Security Roles for myIT

Note to DSAs: Only one role, the highest-applicable one, should be assigned to an employee. Either role below requires completion of the following courses:

  • PRV800 – HIPAA
  • PRV802 – FERPA
  • PRV804 – SSN
  • OIT100 – ITSM Awareness
  • OIT200 – myIT Tool Incident & Request.

Security Roles for myIT

  • UF_N_SM_HELP_DESK (Service Management Help Desk Staff)
    This role is provided to only the UFIT Help Desk staff to support Service Management. This role grants access to add/edit solely service requests, and incidents and provides access to secure fields shared with the UFIT Security Group. Users of this role will have read ONLY access to Problem and Change Management. In addition, users will have access to the remote support application. This role is primarily for tier 1 employees, including student employees.
  • UF_N_SM_STAFF (Service Management Staff)
    This role grants access to add/edit service requests, incidents, changes and problems. It provides the user with the ability to access reports and approve various items (e.g. Change requests and Knowledge articles) along with the ability to add/edit service requests, incidents, changes and problems.

The ITSM Awareness online training is designed to familiarize the UFIT community with changes in the way that Service Management will be conducted around the university as a result of the ITSM initiative. The training module provides the What, Who, Why, & How of the ITSM initiative. Register via myTraining

OIT200 myIT Tool: Incident & Request The myIT Tool online training is designed to familiarize the UFIT community with the myIT tool used for incident and service request management. This course covers:

  • The process workflow for incident and service request management.
  • The navigation of the myIT Tool.
  • The steps to enter a new ticket into the myIT Tool.

This training also covers the guiding principles of the ITSM initiative, with an emphasis on the One Customer View.
